Most tourists to Indonesia can apply for an electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) in advance online. Select 'B1 - Tourist (Visa on Arrival)'. If you decide to get your visa from another source, do not pay more than USD$35 for a B1 e-VOA.

The B1 e-VOA is a single-entry visa that is valid for a 30-day stay in Indonesia with the purpose of tourism, business meetings, goods purchasing, or transit. It is available for 97 countries, see the list here.

With a B1 e-VOA, you are eligible to go through the e-gates at immigration, which is much faster. But you will need to have submitted your e-declaration online (see below).

If your passport does not allow you to get a B1 e-VOA then you will have to buy a 'Tourist Single Entry Visitor Visa - 60 Days', which is more expensive.

If you don’t get an e-VOA, you can still buy a regular Visa-on-Arrival (VOA). However, you will have to wait in the VOA line, which can take 5-30 minutes. Both cash and card payments are accepted.

Travellers to Indonesia must have a passport with a minimum validity of six months beyond the date of departure.
